Well, that’s a difficult question to answer as we aren’t just one person, or a few people. We are all prospectors – big and small.
The Gold Prospecting Network aims to bring all prospectors together to provide the single largest resource for prospecting related information, groups, and help on getting started with your own operation.
Your host, Justin, felt prospecting was one of the most exciting adventures he’s ever had the pleasure to take part in. The prospecting bug was planted in 2008 after reading an article in a local newspaper about the legend of Slumach’s Gold. It wasn’t so much the legend that got him into prospecting as it was the questions the legend generated. It can’t be THAT easy to find gold? Well, a week later a gold panning kit was purchased and he started looking for areas online where someone could start panning. That led him to a spot on the Fraser River in Yale, BC where he found small amounts of flour gold in his pan. From that first pan on, it was more than just an adventure; it became an obsession that is still going strong to this day.
His passion for prospecting has led him down many paths, dirt roads, and remote areas all over the map. There have been some good times, some hard times, and some down right scary times. All of which made a lifelong obsession and created a never ending adventure.
Our Target Audience
The Gold Prospecting Network aims to target all groups and experience levels across north America. From the seasoned prospector in remote areas of the Yukon, right down to the future prospector that has read their own gold rush legend and is looking to buy their first panning kit. Over the next while we will be adding additional resources to the GPN website. Our end goal is to build the largest resource we possibly can.
